In honor of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Feed Love and AF3IRM San Diego are releasing a pair of stickers to pay homage to the Maribel sisters and all those who have experienced political violence. As current organizers, we hold their memory close to our chests as we continue their work. We study their stories. We learn their lessons. We know that women in the movement are subject to brutal political repression and also we know from their lives that women have the potential to change the course of history.
100% of the proceeds from this sticker will go to Af3irm San Diego to aid in their continued fight for women's liberation and against oppression in all its forms.
These stickers were created by local San Diego Chicana artist and muralist, Jessica Petrikowski (@ARTBYPETRIKOWSKI). Jessica has dedicated her life's work to preserving community and culture within San Diego, especially within Barrio Logan where most of her murals live. As an artist, mom, and activist Jessica’s dedication to our community through art highlights how women have the capacity to transform communities with our unwavering struggle.
